Coloured Doors of Paddington

Everyday I gain inspiration from my neighborhood. A simple walk around the block can provide me with dozens of new jumping off points for design schemes, thanks to the creative residents I'm surrounded by. There has been much posting on blogs lately regarding vividly painted front doors. I feel nowhere has embraced this trend more then my beloved Paddington. I love the whimsy of these coloured doors and say a big thank you to the owners for brighten up my day every time I walk out of my front door.

  1. How lovely Bree
I used to work in Paddington about 20 years ago.. and It was bright and colourful and full of interest even then... I do miss it.... must be great to live amongst this everyday... one of my favourite spots was the fiveways earlier in the morning with the sun shining through... Have a great week xx Julie

  3. All are gorgeous. Yesterday we went to Perigueux and there were so many fabulous doors and antique door knockers that I wished that I had taken my camera with me....

  4. I love them Bree, especially the green. I haven't seen much of this where we are, maybe I should spread the trend!

  6. Julie I would have loved to see what the area was like 20 years ago. My house is tucked just in behind five ways and I love seeing the sun come across the harbour from here too.

  7. I do miss Paddo... it's only been nine months but feels like years - we are now across the ditch in NZ. Thank you for the glimpse of my old life - two of those doors were just around the corner from our old place. I don't miss the parking on a Saturday morning!

  8. I'm sure you must be able to tell something about the character of the person who lives in a house by the colour they paint their door.

  9. Now that is a fantastic post! Please, please allow me to repost - linking back to you? I'm just crazy about these doors! Here in London, the colour palettes are pretty subdued and I think (via your handy research), we can inspire some colour into the lives of the British... What do you say?
