I have found a new medium to share work images and ideas with you.  Instagram is proving to be a much easier forum to fit into my busy schedule.   As you can tell from my lack of posts lately I have been taking a hiatus from the blog.  In the mean time I will continue to share interior inspiration on my Instagram feed, under Oliver Interiors

Tiny Treat

A small cottage can have just as much street appeal as it's million dollar neighbors right? I smiled when I saw this teeny tiny one bedroom Paddington abode. I just love the way the owners dressed it up, so cute!

The streets of Paddo are filled with an eclectic array of entrance doors, the adjoining lanters also make great spotting!

A Piece of Paddington

I couldn't resist snapping this slice of Paddington on my morning walk. A fine example of a juliet balcony "Romeo Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo".

Paddington Parade

Here is my view of Paddington this week. This is what James and I see on our walk through the streets to Centenial Park. I just adore all the intricate iron work detail that can be seen around the lanes of Paddington.

Coloured Doors of Paddington

Everyday I gain inspiration from my neighborhood. A simple walk around the block can provide me with dozens of new jumping off points for design schemes, thanks to the creative residents I'm surrounded by. There has been much posting on blogs lately regarding vividly painted front doors. I feel nowhere has embraced this trend more then my beloved Paddington. I love the whimsy of these coloured doors and say a big thank you to the owners for brighten up my day every time I walk out of my front door.

Paddington Streetscapes

Here are a few images of the beautiful homes located in Paddington.
The terrace above is typical of the style of architecture in Paddington, Sydney and it's surrounding areas. Most were built in the late 1800's and early 1900's.


This sandstone cottage on Paddington Street was recently purchased by renowned Australian fashion designer Collette Dinnigan. The internal walls all feature the exposed sandstone seen in this exterior shot. I think it's only fitting that someone with such impeccable taste should be the custodian of this remarkable period residence.
I adore this church on Moncur St Paddington it speaks to my love of symmetry. The church has been converted into a private residence.
