First Purchase

Now that I have made my first purchase

P.S I hope my husband doesn't read this I might be in trouble!

Open the Doors

Town & Country Style opened the doors to their long awaited Sydney showroom this month. I dropped by last week and picked out some delectable goodies for clients. I'm loving having this beautifully styled space at my disposal.

Flowers Flowers Everywhere

I must be crazy, what was I thinking buying a new renovation project just before the Christmas rush for my business begins. I have too many things on my to do list and not enough hours in the day. The only ray of light is the fact that my house currently looks like a florist. Between presenting the house for sale and the blooms I have ready to go out on job installations the place is full of sweet perfume acting like adrenaline and keeping me going.

Movement at the Station

This week I bought a new house. I wasn't even looking, how did this happen? As you can see by the view from our new place we're not in Paddington any more Toto. It was the water view, big yard and the prospect of an exciting new renovation project that seduced me. Paddington is still my home until next year and it will be with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. All the same I'm just about busting out of my skin at the prospect of renovating my lovely new Sydney sandstone and weather board beach house.

Soak Away Your Troubles

Luxury bath manufactor Vicotria & Albert is releasing a new design called Toulouse, based on french double ended bath designs from the 1860's. Until their press release came across my desk this morning I had never head of this supplier. Their website is well worth a visit it contains endless inspiration.

I once lived in a house without a bath and I must attest I only lasted a year. I could not do without my nightly soaking ritual.

Dark & Stormy

Today I'm feeling a little dark and moody, much like these images of the Stanley Furniture City Club range. Don't you just love the patina on the timber paneled walls! Back in my old days as a buyer I use to order in a selection of the Stanley range. Oh how I miss their beautifully styled catalogues.

Colour My World

I often get emails from readers requesting the paint colours I have used on previous jobs. So I thought I would do a post on my favourite paint supplier Porters. When it comes to colour or specialty paint finishes no one beats Porters. From their milk based furniture paints to the the liquid nails range, I love it all!

You can check out some of their great options at www.porterspaints.com

Nothing will dramatically update your interior faster or cheaper then a new coat of paint. Don't just confine yourself to walls, floors and furniture can take on a new life too.

Paddington Pile

For those of you that having been following my blog from the beginning you will remember some of my earlier postings on fashion designer Collette Dinnigan's Paddinington properties. Well it turns out Miss Dinnigan has just put her newly renovated Paddington Street sandstone stunner on the market. Apparently she is planing to move back into her ten million dollar Underwood Street Paddington pile.

Detailed Design

Imposed Tile Patterns

Mother Of Pearl Inlayed Timber Columns

Hand Beaten Metal Details

Herringbone Textured Wallpaper In The Master Bedroom

As we all know the devil is in the detail. These pictures show that finishing touches do matter. All the images were taken during my holiday to the newly opened Banyan Tree Resort in Bali. The Hotel is located in the more remote Ungasan area. Each villa has its own private horizon edge pool perched on the cliff top overlooking the secluded beach, bliss!

Tropical Retreats

Well it's back to reality for me. I arrived home today into the midst of a Sydney winter, the dream is well and truly over. For the last week I have been floating through the days in a seriously relaxed state. There must have been something in the tropical air as James slept like an angel.

I have lots of gorgeous drool worthy pictures to post once I download my camera. In the mean time here are some inspiring interiors from the book I was reading on the plane "Great Escapes Asia".
